Lesbian Marriage in a Britain

Two lesbian prison inmates have gotten married in Surrey, Britian. It was just early this month when they got hitched.

The ceremony was performed at the Send Prison by an official of the Guilford Registar Office. This lesbian marriage in the prison is said to be a first.

Sara Crane is a convicted killer and Joanne Davies a drug dealer are both 31. Crane was jailed for life for murder in 2003 and Davies was jailed for two and a half years for intent to supply drugs.

"Offenders are entitled to apply to the Governor to register a civil partnership in prison under the Civil Partnership Act 2004, so long as certain criteria defined under the Act are met."
